Kawasaki Unveil New Ninja ZX-6R, ER-6 and Cruiser Model AT the NEC Motorcycle Show - 20th October 2008

Ninja ZX-6RKawasaki are set to unveil their line-up of 2009 machinery at The Carole Nash International Motorcycle and Scooter Show, held this year from 28th November to 7th December. The range of new bikes is lead by the totally re-vamped, lighter Ninja ZX-6R designed for superior all round control. The sharper, quicker-revving, lighter-handling ER-6n and ER-6f machines will also excite showgoers with their contemporary looks and performance.

The latest ZX-6R continues its track orientated heritage taking the new model to peak performance whilst retaining road sensibilities. A revised chassis and lighter weight enhances handling to give the rider greater confidence to explore the machine’s considerable limits. The ZX-6R’s latest engine provides precise engine control across all RPM and pumps out an impressive spread of mid-range torque. Aesthetically the 2009 ZX-6R follows its big brother, the Ninja ZX-10R, using twin fox-eye style head lights, MotoGP inspired fairing panels and a seat-unit almost identical to its larger counterpart.

The naked ER-6n and the faired ER-6f have been comprehensively updated with new fuelling characteristics for the parallel twin engines that provide smoother low-mid response and a quicker-revving character. A lighter chassis and changes to the frame, swingarm and suspension allowed by the ER-6’s compact engine have improved handling further still and enabled the bike to retain the dimensions of a 400 but with the power of a 650.

Joining the new ZX-6R, ER-6n and ER-6f, Kawasaki will also be showing off other new for 2009 models; the VN1700 Voyager, VN1700 Classic, VN1700 Classic Tourer and KLX250R off-road styled machine.

Race fans will be eager to get up close and personal with Kawasaki’s ZX-RR MotoGP bike, British Superbike machines and the mighty KX450F and KX250F from their off road competition stable.

Michael Johnstone, Sales and Marketing Manager, Kawasaki Motors UK, commented; “We are anticipating a real buzz around our NEC Show presence with a raft of major new models, a MotoGP bike and other race machines on display plus our very own on-stand clothing shop. With new supersport, cruiser, naked and off-road style bikes making their UK debut at this show there is a real must-see element to the Kawasaki stand”.

Finlay McAllan, Managing Director of MCI Exhibitions, added: “Kawasaki has always drawn huge crowds with radical road and race machines, with their latest and greatest on display this trend is sure to continue!”
